Department for business innovation and skills

We were brought in to rethink the Internal Communications offering within the department. This involved developing an Internal Communications strategy and evaluating the current channel usage. We helped to increase the visibility of the leadership team and recommended new collaborative ways of working to better facilitate a culture of conversation. Over 9 months, all of these objectives were met and we recognized an evolution to a fresh approach to Internal Communications.

In November 2012, following the success of our work in developing the revised Internal Communications strategy, we were employed to deliver a Senior Civil Service Leadership event for the Department. The role of the Leadership team is to build BIS as a high capability, high performance, high impact and high reputation department. The objective of the event was to create a cohesive Leadership team that lives the BIS values, is focused on engagement and helps employees across the Department to understand how they contribute to creating conditions for growth. The event provided a forum for working collectively on the important and topical issues they face as a team, spanning policy, delivery, management and leadership. Our role involved consulting the steering group behind common objectives, consulting on strategy, event and session design, interactive social media and voting capabilities, and video compilation and editing.
